EnEf – Energy Efficiency in the Building Sector: A Sustainable Future

EnEf is a transnational project co-funded by the European Commission in the framework of the Lifelong Learning Programme, Leonardo da Vinci – Development of Innovation. The EnEf project aims to alleviate the lack of knowledge of entrepreneurs and managers of the building sector concerning energy efficiency. Such objective will be reached by designing innovative training contents available on an e-learning platform and enriched by visual elements, simulations and interesting practices in building industry. Energy savings and energy efficient buildings are considered a key way for reduction of green house gas emissions, taking into consideration that in fact buildings are responsible for over 40% of Europe's greenhouse gas emissions. The EU Directive 2002/91/EC defines concrete goals for energy savings and for the use of renewable energies in buildings. The construction sector is one of the largest in Europe and a major motor for development. This project will contribute to cost effective energy efficiency, Target group of the EnEf project are entrepreneurs and managers of the building industry, mainly employing up to 100 persons.
